Since founding the online art store and gallery, Art Basket, Sophie Green has donated 10% of her profits from both the gallery and her own artwork to conservation charities.

As a conservation and wildlife artist and a signature member of the Artists for Conservation group, Sophie has always been passionate about making a difference to the natural world.

In an interview with Modern Met, Sophie stated, “It is my view that everybody should be making a concerted effort to improve the dire situation that our planet is currently in; whether it be through donating time, money, making lifestyle changes, or educating others. For me, I use my art to depict both the beauty and the vulnerability of the natural world, raise awareness for conservation issues, and encourage others to consider how they too can make a difference.”

Sophie also runs an entirely paperless company and encourages artists to use recycled/recyclable materials when packaging their artwork. The company donates 10% of all profits from sales to a wide range of conservation charities.

“I can honestly say that without the drive to raise awareness and money for the causes that are close to my heart, I would probably have half of the motivation to paint. For me, painting wildlife and helping to protect wildlife go hand in hand.” Sophie told Into the Sticks, “I am proud to make a difference in some small way through my art. Either by educating others or drawing attention to the vulnerability of certain species, it fills me with joy to know that my artwork is helping in some small way.”
