Interview with an 'artrepreneur', Surrey Homes September Issue.

Curator, Sophie Green, caught up with Surrey Homes Magazine to discuss the philosophy of Art Basket and her reason for taking the traditional brick-and-mortar approach to art galleries online.

Why did you set up Art Basket?

Online art galleries have opened up a new portal within the art market. Artists like myself now have a stage to exhibit their work and artwork has become more accessible to the general public. This is great, but it also means that quantity often takes precedence over quality.

So, how is Art Basket different to other online art stores?

Online art stores can often lack the ‘personal’ touch of brick-and-mortar galleries. At Art Basket, we have made the bold decision to revive the traditional art gallery approach online. As with traditional galleries, we handpick only the best artwork to present to our customers. We also strive to build and maintain relationships with both our Artists and our customers.
